Flowers for a Gardener

Welcome,
Thank you so much for visiting.

I made this card for a very keen gardener and aspiring florist.

I started by sizing the white card for the layer, and then cutting the window with my Peek-a-boo die. Next I inked some clouds to show through the aperture, but decided they looked too 'harsh', so then brushed white ink over them, and was satisfied with the much softer result.

I stamped the image, a Studio Light Essentials set called Calla lilies, (it appears to be discontinued) in Memento London Fog ink, and then coloured with my polychromo pencils using the 'no line' technique.

I cut the image apart to arrange it coming up through the aperture, popping parts of it up on foam pads.  I also adhered the front panel using foam tape.

The sentiment was a magazine freebie, stamped in Whisper Ink Sugarloaf Green.  It was one of my original inks, and is getting rather dry now.

I stamped two of the lily flowers in gray ink on opposite corners in the inside, but they were too faint to photograph well.
