More Eyelets

Welcome and thanks for calling in.

I needed a masculine card and this is what evolved.

I started with a kraft base, and then found this piece of mulberry paper in a mixed bag of scrap paper.  It is fabulously thick and has a most glorious sheen on some of the fibers in the rich forest green base.

This settled on I then decided on the contrast of the plain corrugated card, and then the tree stamp onto the shimmery pale gold paper.
That is where I ran into problems as I did not realise that the dye ink would take so long to dry, and twice smudged the panel... so in the end I left it overnight and next day it was obligingly dry - whew!

I then assembled the whole, after sponging a tad of ink around the edges of the base card, the corrugated card and the image panel, adding eyelets to the corners of the green and image panels, and some twine across the base of the image.

May your day be blessed.

  4. Lovely card. A perfect card for a male. I love the tree image. The eyelets add another dimension to the card. Eyelets were something I used to use a lot, but haven't done so for a while.
