Cycle of Life

Welcome again - and thank you for visiting.
Two days after the news of a death last week, we had the news of a birth of a wee boy in the extended family.

I started by embossing the patterned paper with a a Tim Holtz 'fades' folder,
and sponging the edges and applying ink to the texture using the 'direct to paper' technique.

The teddy bear image is a freebie from Organic Zombie,  coloured with chalks and mounted on foam for some dimension.

The sentiment was stamped, cut and sponged before being mounted with ribbon.

The card was finished with some pearls.

  7. Oh Maxine how adorable!!! Love the background for this... the added ink makes the design pop so beautifully! Love the cute bear image too! I can remember when my DD was born on what would have been my mom and dad's 40th anniversary... had my dad lived to see it, and my mom made the statement that the Lord had filled the void in her life with the gift of a new life, and one which filled her with great joy since she lived with us at the time. So thankful for the gift of new life... whether the birth of a baby, or the rebirth of a soul!!!

    hugs,
    Grace

  15. Such a cute card. I recognise that blue background baby paper as I have some myself and it looks great with the embossed textured added to it. I had never thought to emboss patterned paper. And it is such a cute bear too.
