Welcome again.
I mentioned in my last post that I had recently been part of a card class - one of the techniques I taught was that of masking, and this was the card I taught.
I used the (retired) Layers of Color set Dotted Dahlia
(This has now been re-released by Penny Black)
The images were coloured with chalks, which was also a new medium to the participants.
Unfortunately the quote is not on the new set, but the flowers and leaves are all there.
I also taught them that a wee smudge is not the end of a card, by using these wee butterflies as 'cover-ups'. I believe that 'rescue' techniques are as important as the basic techniques. A few pearls finished the card.

Thank you for visiting, and for any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.
May your day be blessed.
Yes I like that hide technique, I do it often lol so most of the time my original design turns into something else because of hidden mistakes

ReplyDeleteWonderful card, I love how your flowers frame the sentiment, I would love you to share this in Penny Circle on Flickr.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sentiment-and I see you have flowers abounding! I love the masking- layout of the flowers and the butterflies are perfect on the card!
ReplyDeleteFab card Maxine and those flowers and butterflies are pretty! Love the term 'rescue techniques'.. I always say I 'create an opportunity' but yes, that's part of why we have those little embellies!
ReplyDeleteOh so lovely! What a gorgeous floral card, just like the beauty of God's gift to us in gardens! Such vivd, lovely colors! Masking is one of my fave techniques in stamping - so versatile! Blessings, friend!
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that sentiment wasn't included - it's amazing! I agree with you about "mistakes"- I tell people it's a chance to be creative, anything goes. Thanks for sharing this beautiful card with us at The Perfect Sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card. I love the sentiment and image that you used and the butterflies are such a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous technique Maxine! I love Charles Spurgeon and that is such an inspiring quote. Your card is gorgeous and I agree - there are no mistakes only opportunities to embellish!
