Welcome, thanks for visiting me.
I follow a blog called Crafting in Croatia by Nina Brackett, and recently she has been experimenting with her backgrounds, and I was inspired to try too.
I used several stamps in my background, which was clear embossed on white card, then sponged with distress inks.
Here is a close up, with two of the different stamps showing.
I made a banner for the sentiment and placed foam tape under it for dimension - I had to place the sentiment here as there was a star on the top of the tree which I had forgotten about, having inked and embossed it before I remembered.
The scene stamp was coloured with Prisma coloured pencils, and a silver pen was used to accent the ripples and clouds.
I was pleased with the results - as was the recipient, who usually does not comment on the cards I make for him.
There was a comment on a blog recently about making your stamps 'go further' by using different sets and brands - on this card there are four different brands of stamps used, from five different sets :-).
