Poppies on Print

Welcome.
I have finally got my technology to be polite and co-operate again.
And again I have been using my Precious Poppies set by Sweet'n'Sassy - I am loving this set - not only is it large, it has lots of sentiments and images.

I was inspired to make this card by an image on Pinterest, which linked to this blog here, to print onto dictionary paper - as my technology was not being polite, I decided to stamp and colour and image instead.

I stamped the image onto a page from an old concordance, then coloured the poppies with chalks.

The sentiment was stamped and embossed and cut into a tag, and the edges sponged with the same ink, Worn Lipstick distress ink. I also used this ink to sponge the edge of the card.

The final detail was a few red rhinestones.  I must admit I love this card, and I am very happy with how it has turned out.!!

  6. Gorgeous card! I love poppies and have what we call, California poppies growing wild in my garden. They're small orange poppies and since they made it all the way to my garden from my neighbor across the streets garden, I don't have the heart to dig them up even though they are residing in my vegetable garden!

I'm curious, how did you color these. I've seen images stamped and colored on book or dictionary paper but haven't done it. Your's is stunning!
