Casing a Master

Welcome - Thank you for visiting me again

I have had a wonderful day in my studio - mainly working on a large project, but I also made this card whilst 'waiting for things to dry'.

I was cruising the internet this morning when I saw this card by Michelle  Woerner, and immediately thought 'I have the die used for this cut' and that was my starting point.

I cut the vertical pattern almost the same as Michelle's card,(I offset the die on the third cut a wee bit differently)  then changed the sentiment and simply stamped and embossed it onto the white card.

The flower is one I had crocheted a while ago and popped into my stash, I attached it with a glue dot, and added a half pearl in the centre.

I decided to mount the white over a cream card, but before I did so I sponged the edges of both colours of card with a soft orange ink and also rounded all the corners.

I lined the inside with copy paper after stamping a poinsettia in orange in opposing corners, and sponging the edges, again.

So this is my CASE of Michelle's project - somewhat more simple, and with different colours, but I am very happy with it.

May your day be blessed

  21. What a great CASE!!! Love the colors on the crocheted flowers, they really pop! Stamping the poinsettias in orange on the inside is brilliant! It really dresses it up.

  22. Maxine, I just ran across your website! Lovely cards. I especially like your orange and yellow crocheted flower. Is there a website that shows the instructions? I've made crocheted flowers, but not with the pointed petals! Beautiful!
