Welcome - I have a very short post today.
For years I have welcomed my guests with a wee card in their bedrooms, starting long before I ever made cards. The other day I had a guest arriving, and I realised I did not have a card available, so it was out to the studio and in 20 minutes I had this card to pop on my guest's bed!
I was inspired by this card, initially viewed on Pinterest, by Cibele Glazer.
I sponged the edges of the business sized card with a red ink, then masked off part of the words on the stamp so I just had the welcome.
This was stamped on the bottom edge of the card and embossed
The rose was stamped and coloured with watercolour crayons, then masked and the script stamped. Masking was applied to the card so I could create a background by sponging with distress inks.
TIP This is a wonderful way to use up wee pieces of card, and I know that they are always appreciated.
I am linking this to:
2 backgrounds, 0 papers, 1 image, 4 shades of water colours
Thank you for visiting - any comments you may leave are deeply appreciated.
May your day be blessed.

Oh, Maxine, what a precious and loving thing to do for your guest! It's lovely and is perfect for this week's ODBD Shining the Light challenge! I also just love your description of using wee pieces of paper! My father was born in Scotland, and I fondly remember my grandparents using wee all the time! How precious! Such a delight to see another entry from you this week! Warm hugs, and enjoy your company!
ReplyDeleteMaxine,

Pretty card...and a great idea...I'm sure it really makes your guests feel welcome. I know that we stayed at a B & B one time where the hostess had a welcome card in our room...nice touch, but it wasn't a home made one. A Home made one would have been even more special!
ReplyDeleteLove the design. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteColoring is my forte'. Thanks for critique of my blog. Jim
