Pink Roses and Purple Accents

Welcome
I had intended to be back here before now, but the gardens have been calling! I have a fabulous display of roses this summer, and they inspired this card.

I started with a (retired) Layers of Color set, and stamped the doilies in Pearlescent Orchid ink.

The rose is a retired FireCracker Design, stamped in Cocoa ink and coloured with chalks. The die cut I layered it onto with foam tape is a Spellbinders Marvellous Square cut out of vellum. The corner accents are from the same die set.

The main panel was mounted to make an easel card.

The base of the easel was decorated with a border from the same set as the doilies, the sentiment is from a Crafts Meow set, embossed in gold and cut out using a tag die and sponged with a wee tad of violet ink.
The strip above that is a ribbon covered layer of card with lace and pink pearls added to it.

Another view of the finished card.

  3. Beautiful Maxine! I used to be a rose tester for Jackson & Perkins roses many years ago. I too love roses. Had to give it up because of my full time job. None of the roses survived until today. Sad!

  12. Maxine, I wish the gardens were calling over here. (smile) We've just had two major snowstorms and unusually cold weather... not normal for Virginia. Your card is so pretty. I love the way you colored and shaded the rose. It reminds me of the roses my Dad grows at his house. Have a blessed week.
