Golden Leaves

Welcome

I was inspired to make this card by a challenge which required the use of newsprint.
I also like to have at least one sympathy card 'on hand'.

The sentiment stamp is part of a retired Layers of Color set, designed by Nina Brackett, which I gold embossed.

The leaves were cut with a Sizzix die I have had for years and never used....
I coloured them with various distress inks, using colour dusters. The tips were tapped onto a Versamark pad, then gold embossed, and then some Viva Gold gold and bronze pastes were touched onto them

The final details were the gold sequins and the single line frame.

I may not be around for the next wee while, we are having a massive change in lifestyle and this may not leave much time for blogging in the short term.  I look forward to being back in 'blogland' when life settles down again. :-)

  8. Maxine, You will be missed no matter how short a time passes. Your cards are always so diverse, This one is says so much. leaves that have fallen are so symbolic of life with a purpose and as they flutter to the ground the end has come. Thank you for posting your beautiful art with us this week during our 155th challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I’m praying for sweet sunshiny days, Carole

  13. I like this one but why are you making so many Sympathy cards? Are you preempting death? I have not made or had to make a sympathy card in all the 13 years I have been crafting, maybe my friends are all still very young or living to ripe old ages.

Hope you have a great day

  14. Maxine, this is a lovely & perfect sympathy card. I have that same die, never used it. It's beautiful with the leaves as you've colored the script background, and the gold embossing is wonderful. I liked the rectangle outline with the flowers just over the borders. Ditto the gold embellies you've added. TFS & Hugs.
