Welcome
I was inspired to make this card by a challenge which required the use of newsprint.
I also like to have at least one sympathy card 'on hand'.
The sentiment stamp is part of a retired Layers of Color set, designed by Nina Brackett, which I gold embossed.
The leaves were cut with a Sizzix die I have had for years and never used....
I coloured them with various distress inks, using colour dusters. The tips were tapped onto a Versamark pad, then gold embossed, and then some Viva Gold gold and bronze pastes were touched onto them
The final details were the gold sequins and the single line frame.

I may not be around for the next wee while, we are having a massive change in lifestyle and this may not leave much time for blogging in the short term. I look forward to being back in 'blogland' when life settles down again. :-)

Maxine, You will be missed no matter how short a time passes. Your cards are always so diverse, This one is says so much. leaves that have fallen are so symbolic of life with a purpose and as they flutter to the ground the end has come. Thank you for posting your beautiful art with us this week during our 155th challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I’m praying for sweet sunshiny days, Carole
I think leaves are perfect for sympathy cards Maxine, the touch of gold looks lovely!

Very nice! Love your gold dipped newsprint leaves.
I like this one but why are you making so many Sympathy cards? Are you preempting death? I have not made or had to make a sympathy card in all the 13 years I have been crafting, maybe my friends are all still very young or living to ripe old ages.
Hope you have a great day
Maxine, this is a lovely & perfect sympathy card. I have that same die, never used it. It's beautiful with the leaves as you've colored the script background, and the gold embossing is wonderful. I liked the rectangle outline with the flowers just over the borders. Ditto the gold embellies you've added. TFS & Hugs.
How GORGEOUS. It's for a sad reason, but this is absolutely beautiful and I'm sure it will bring comfort to the receiver! Thank you for joining us at Great Impressions! HUGS! :) Mynn xx
This is so beautiful. I love the elegance of it with all the gold embossing. Take care.
Such a pretty Sympathy card!
I love autumn leaves, Maxine, and these are beautiful! The colours are gorgeous. I like how the sentiment flows into the border.
I hope life flows smoothly for you too, during the changes you will be making, and look forward to seeing you back in blogland when you are settled again.

This card is beautiful Maxine. I love the detail of using the gems and the shimmer on the leaves is so pretty. Thank you for always stopping by my blog and your encouraging words. Means a lot to me.

Wow - those leaves are stunning! I'm so glad you were able to use that die because the results are wonderful. Thank you so much for playing in my Amusing Challenge this week!
Really elegant CAS design, Maxine. Great idea adding the emboss powder to the edges of the leaves. Hope you don't mind a CASE in the future!
