AWOL

Welcome

Just a short note to say I will be AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) from blogland for a week or so as DH's health has taken a nosedive and we are currently out of town and at a hospice as they try to get his condition stabilised.

To all those who are praying for us and sending best wishes, we sincerely thank you

See you whenever 💟

Simply Dotty

Welcome

I wanted simple card to send a note to a friend, and started by picking up the piece of blue spotted paper.

I was also aware of a current challenge to us inlayed die cuts.... so that was another influence

The Die is the M/B Prim Poppy - I love its classic clean lines!

The sentiment stamp I embossed in blue - it is from KiwiStamping, and laid it up the side of the blue panel, adhering it to the panel, and the card base behind the panel, and let it lift slightly to add some interest.  All edges were sponged with Faded Jeans DI.

The card base was embossed using the Swiss Dots folder, extending it to fill the card surface, as the British card sizes are slightly longer than the American. I adapted a technique I saw on a video over at the Gina K site.

Tea Time Birthday

Welcome

This was made for an order, as the recipient is not a fussy and frilly person, this is what I created.

For the feature panel I used a stamp that I won from a challenge on a Christian Cardmakers Group on Facebook.
It is called Tin Can Mail by Inkadinkadoo.

I coloured it with Prismcolor pencils, and added a gold band on the cup and saucer and some accents on the tin with a signo metallic pen.

Both rectangles were cut with Memory Box Stitched rectangle dies, and the sentiment gold embossed on the lower one.  They were both mounted with an edging of narrow lace.

The final details were these rhinestone flowers in opposite corners.

Pussy Cat Pussy Cat...

Welcome

This card was made for a cat lover.

I started with the s/b die d'lite tree, cut out of light green and shaded with prismcolor pencils.

The sun was cut freehand from gold paper

And the cats die cut using Memory Box dies, then coloured. I sat them on a sponged lawn, and drew in some birds for the cats to watch.

The sentiment was stamped repeatedly, starting from the centre and working out to the sides.

Gold dotted Washi tape finished the inside of the card.

Box Birthday Card

Welcome

Thank you for calling in - warning - this is a photo heavy post!!

About a month ago DH and I had to go to our 'base' hospital for a procedure that is not performed locally, and as he was to be there overnight, I needed accommodation, and the wonderful Carol of CarolG ... Creates so very graciously opened her home to (a rather stressed) me at short notice.

That evening we had some crafty time together, and made the shell of this box card - my first.

This is the card closed - the belly band was a sentiment sticker I added from my stash, as this card was for DH's birthday.

Here is the card opened - the vehicle die cuts were from Carol too, and I painted them blue, as those were the colours of the associated vehicles in DH's life.  I mounted them on silver card stock to strengthen the die cuts and to give them shiny windows and 'chrome' bumpers and trim.

This gives a true photo of the sheen!!

The balloons were punched from glitter card, and attached with white wire.

These next photos are the side panels - each one made up part of the 'story' I told with the card.

DH loved the card, and kept pointing it out to the visitors we had that day.
