Farm Yard Chat

Welcome

I have managed to make a card this week - hopefully I will get another one tomorrow. :)

I wanted to send a card to a friend, and this is what I came up with...

I started with a stamped  image that I was gifted some years ago, and  added some colour in selected spots with my polychromo pencils -
I darkened the neck feathers so they look like the Sussex breed of hens.

The sentiment saw it's first outing - it's part of a wee set I purchased some years ago by Paper Tray Ink.
I embossed it in white, using an off cut of the red card.  I only had the one piece of red card, so I die cut the layer for the image out of the centre of it, and also the sentiment strip...

The patterned background is a paper napkin, glued to a white panel.
I used a glue stick, and because of the heat, some came off in lumps, and would not smooth out, so I ran it through the Cuttlebug and it worked wonders!

I coated the tail feathers of the rooster with Wink of Stella, and I think I caught the sparkle in this photo

I finished the inside with some washi tape

And layered two strips of the same washi tape on the envelope.

Colouring Cards

Welcome

Just a quick post today - I have been lacking in mojo for some time now.  and while unpacking recently I found a box of small colouring cards, and today I relaxed and coloured...
then mounted the cards.
The mounts have a small stand on the back so they can stand up on a desk or cabinet

these were fun to colour and mount

My polychromo pencils had a good 'workout' - pencil has become on of my favourite colouring mediums

Thank you for calling in to visit

Leaves and Scraps

Welcome
It's good to be back - albeit slowly...

I never did find my other memory stick, which I have used since the move, so I invested in another one and down loaded some shots today...

This was made as a commissioned card, and it was one of a bundle that I made.  Some were recycled card fronts altered and remounted to freshen them up, one even used an offcut of a commercial card that I liked...  I did the big batch, using these shortcuts, as I was anticipating my left arm being 'out of action' for the first part of February - but that (surgery) has now been delayed until March
Enough about me - here is the card..

The feature panel is the 'waste' from another card, that I cannot see that I blogged, so it is likely on the missing memory stick ... the panel was made using patterned washi tape, and the branch cut from it

The washi is part of a co-ordinating set I was gifted at Christmas

The sentiment was stamped, gold embossed and then mounted over a snippet of gold card

The panels were mounted over an embossed background that I had 'coloured' using the direct to paper technique and Golden Glitz ink.  I finished the front with some champagne half pearls.

I finished the inside with some of the washi tape.

I love to garden (the leaf panel) and also recycle when I can
I love pearls, they were one of my first embellishments when I started stamping, and I have always had a soft spot for them - I simply love pearls - unfortunately they don't come in as many colour ways now

Zentangled Flowers

Welcome

And an especially warm welcome to my newest follower, Pina Mulone.
Pina, if you have a blog, please let me know so I can follow you back.

I have been under the weather with another chest infection, add that to a prolonged spell of (for us) very high temperatures, I have done nothing very much very energetically!

This card was made in response to a challenge in the small (NZ) swap group I am in, where the challenge was to try this technique by Natasha Foote, and fellow New Zealander

I hunted high and low and low for a large, open, floral image, and could not find one, so made do with this old one from Happy Little Stampers, stamping it in opposing corners

When i had finished the zentangling, I water coloured the background, as per the instructions

I was pleased with the results, and decided that a deep red was the appropriate colour for the card base.

I finished the inside slightly differently this time, making it a truly 'reusable' card, following this tutorial, again by Natasha Foote

I decorated the envelope  using the same image, but colouring it with pencil, rather than zentangling it.

Up, Up, and Away

Welcome

I am sorry I have not been around much, but life seems to be moving faster than me - once again.
With unpacking, keeping the garden up, and misplacing my memory stick with photos on, I have not blogged much - I have also sent a couple of cards without photographing them - oops.
I have been doing some creating...

And here's another masculine birthday card - it's that time of year!!

It's also time for the mid-month reminder for We Love Stamping

This time I used the Uniko stamp set Up Up and Away which I received last year. This is it's first outing

I started with a background from my overflowing box - I discovered, when I packed up my craft room, and put all my backgrounds into one box, I HAVE A LOT...
I have no idea how this was made, or what I used .  It was a wee bit small for the standard card size, being a snippet, so I split it and added the brown textural ribbon (first use, it was a gift) across the centre of the card.

I stamped and embossed in copper ep, the three different balloons in the set on various coloured card snippets, and then copper embossed the one basket design on a snippet of pale fawn card, fussy cut them, and adhered them under the balloon base.
I mounted the two larger balloons directly to the base, but used foam dots for the small dark green one in the foreground.
The sentiment was embossed with the same copper ep

Retro Masculine Birthday

A warm welcome to our first challenge of 2024 at We Love Stamping,  with a fresh approach to monthly challenges.

This year the Design Team will all be selecting a monthly option to reflect their own individual style of crafting or favourite themes. On the remaining months we will continue as before with a general theme, along with the AG option as previously.

Our rules remain the same and entries must have at least one stamped element to be eligible. We are always on the look out for stamping Guest Designers, those interested in being considered please add GD when entering.

This month Mervi has selected the theme which is....

Something New - or Anything Goes

3 prizes of stamp sets from Stampendous

Welcome, and I wish you all the best of years.

This card is one I have had on my mind for a while, and made a few weeks agon, but with moving, and then being out of town on holiday, now it the time to share it.

The stamps are all from Uniko - both from their Mid Century Modern range.
Although I received them a while back, this is their first outing

The sentiment frame was stamped first, using this set , and was then masked.

I then stamped the Linear Background twice, which needed some more masking.
The border of the frame was filled in with a silver pen, then two aquas and two browns in pencil filled random spaces in the background, before brightening up the card by mounting that panel onto an orange base.

Thank you for stopping by and looking - some months it was easy to choose, others somewhat more difficult!
In December there were only two cards, mainly because I was packing and moving
I have made some cards this year, but I am already 'behind' with my birthday cards (I have a lot in
January and February), and I am far from unpacked... that is a work in progress

May you all have a wonderful 2024
