Welcome
I have managed to make a card this week - hopefully I will get another one tomorrow. :)
I wanted to send a card to a friend, and this is what I came up with...
I started with a stamped image that I was gifted some years ago, and added some colour in selected spots with my polychromo pencils -
I darkened the neck feathers so they look like the Sussex breed of hens.
The sentiment saw it's first outing - it's part of a wee set I purchased some years ago by Paper Tray Ink.
I embossed it in white, using an off cut of the red card. I only had the one piece of red card, so I die cut the layer for the image out of the centre of it, and also the sentiment strip...
The patterned background is a paper napkin, glued to a white panel.
I used a glue stick, and because of the heat, some came off in lumps, and would not smooth out, so I ran it through the Cuttlebug and it worked wonders!
I coated the tail feathers of the rooster with Wink of Stella, and I think I caught the sparkle in this photo
I finished the inside with some washi tape
And layered two strips of the same washi tape on the envelope.

Maxine, this is a farmyard beauty. The chickens look great with the background and I really like the script/font of the sentiment.

OH! What a wonderfully different card, I love the colours you used, a fabulous image too. I'm sure your friend will love it. x
Excellent! love that image. The card (outside and inside) are perfect. Once again I love that you included the envelope.
Hugs and Blessings
Love how you have added colour to your chickens and that paper napkin makes a great background. It is so nice to use the things that you have had for a while xx
Beautiful card Maxine, so different with that stamp! Love how you coloured the chicken and the rooster, and the sparkling on his tail feathers looks great. Thanks for the clever trick about the glue lumps, sometime it happens also to me!
Farm-tastic!! I love the mixed media approach to this rooster and hen featured card! Wonderful! We appreciate the link-up to FarmQuest General Store! --Becca
I love the subtile coloring and the pop of red! Think she will be glad to find this one in the mail! Hugs, Gerrina

Nicely done card... With a great sentiment!
I love this card Maxine. You did an awesome job coloring the image. Love the layout as well. Great job.
What a fab image this is. I love hens and cockerels in particular on cards and, well on anything really. Kitchenalia with cockerels is something I have always been drawn to. I saw los of it when i was in America but unfortunately I could not fit it all in my suitcase.
The napkin works so well with the image too (and thanks for the tip with the Cuttlebug).
Blessings, Neet xx
