A Floral Quartet

I made this set of cards as a birthday gift earlier in March.

I had to keep it simple as I still had my arm in a sling at that point.

It is a CASE from a card set I saw online, but I cannot remember where, to give credit.

I started by stamping the floral spray from Newton's Nook onto various snippets of white card in Momento London Fog ink, then placing the images onto my Waffle Flower sticky mat to hold it in place, (remembering I was one handed) then coloured it with my Polychromo pencils.

The images were cut with the matching die, and layered over snippets of patterned paper.

I had thought to stencil the background, but that was out of the question at the time.

The edges of the paper, the card, and the sentiment were all inked with a matching ink

I used four different sentiments, the 'blue' sentiment came with the floral set, and says 'Thanks a bunch'

I then took a tiny floret from the set and added some stamping inside in the same ink used on the outside of each card

And repeated that on the envelopes also.

I used the same wee stamp on the tag that I attached to the wrapped gift.

Another Fishy Tail....

It was only the other day that I realised that my last post was my 1,500th, and it has occurred in my 15th year of blogging.  An interesting numerical coincidence. I somehow don't think I will be blogging for another 15 years.... 

Once more the birthday's of the fishermen in the family have rolled around, and this was made for a January birthday... 

I saw this technique online, but cannot find the source now.

I masked off the edges, and inked with some deep brown ink, then basically one takes a series of similar coloured washi and or card strips, (snippets) (I also used some hessian ribbon) and about a third of the way up the card, form a criss-cross pattern, then adhere the focal image over it. 

I did that with this fish image, that was embossed on a snippet of ink sprayed card and fussy cut, and mounted on foam dots.

The sentiment came out of my 'magic mug' of stamped and die cut sentiments

I decided the card needed a wee bit more, so masked the image and stripes, and  sprayed a copper mica spray over the opening.   The lower section was a bit messy, but it 'worked', and I was pleased with the result

A few black enamel dots and I called the front finished, then finished the inside of the top opening card with some more of one of the washi taped I used on the front.

I have been intending to post again, but life has moved way faster than me - blame the residual anaesthesia in my system... that sounds better than simply being disorganised.

This card was made for my older brother - who appreciated it!

 

I saw the sentiment on a card online, and the blogger could not find the source of the quote, or a stamp, so she had computer generated it, and so did I... thank you Kathy of Just Branching Out

I also CASED the sketch, but cannot recall where I saw it - the original was feminine, I made mine masculine

The papers are from an old Stampin' Up pad, and are reversable.  I inked the edges of the papers and hand cut sentiment banner with CP Rouge ink, and also inked the 'parcel' with the same ink.

The oval was cut using two oval dies, using the same card as the base.

The parcel and ribbon are stamps from Uniko's latest release, Mid-century Modern Birthday set.

and I 'coloured' the ribbon and bow with Golden Glitz ink

The birthday greet was from the same Uniko set, stamped with the same ink, which was a fabulous match for the Cranberry coloured cardstock I used for the base

 The scrap strips of design paper were used to decorate the inside, and the envelope.

Fractured!!

My title refers to the technique I have used - it's called a fractured card!

This was the challenge for my small swap group that I belong to here in NZ.

I started with and inky panel that was on my desk, and I embossed it.

I then went hunting for a specific floral image that I wanted to use, but it eluded me - I tried another small floral, but that was a big fail, as I tried to use watercolour stamping... 

I eventually found this face image, stamped it in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink, (after more fails at the watercolour stamping) and added some red to the lips, and blue to her eyes, and then mounted her onto cream card. 

The sentiment was also stamped with the same ink on cream cardstock layered over some of the same 

Cranberry coloured card that I used for the 'fracture' lines and base.

A few gold faceted gems and I called the front of the card done.

The inner lining was cream, and I added a strip of the background card to the edge of it

I decorated the edge of the envelope with off  the edge, repeated  stamping of the image

The card and envelope together.

Thank you for visiting, and hanging in this long - it's taken me hours to do this post, as part way through my trusty mouse once more dropped off the arm of the chair, and this time the 'right click' function died... and i had to learn how to use my mouse pad - thanks to my daughters expertise,  I can now use it, albeit slowly!

China Anniversary

I made it!! I have had my surgery, and am temporarily typing with one hand... 

I made this card in January..

The background was stamped with a large SSS Love Is stamp in Memento London Fog ink.  

I machine stitched around the panel, then sat and thought.... and did sone research, and found that

The 20th Anniversary is the 'China' one, Platinum is the metal and emerald green the colour...

The hearts were die cut from Emerald green glitter card, and adhered to look like steam rising.

I die cut the cup (Stamp Simply Tea or Coffee) from DP, then brushed ink around it. and the number of the anniversary was cut from silver  and adhered to the cup.  

The sentiment was embossed in platimum ep.

The cup was 'grounded' with some washi tape, just the top part of the design.

The internal panel was also stitched around.

The envelope was decorated with a full width of the washi tape.
