The Card with a Hairstyle

Welcome

This is the last of the cards for my customer - she wanted a card for a hairdresser.

I g**gled hair images, and came up with one that had a braid plaited into the hair, down the back of the head.  I changed it into sepia tones, and blurred it slightly, and then printed it out, and trimmed it to fit the card base.

...and that was when this card took on a life of it's own.....

I had decided to use this die cut, and I cut it out of the same card as the base, and snuggled it into the curve of the plait on the background.

Then came the washi tape, the distressed and sponged edges,

and the wonky machine stitching.

The sentiment was stamped randomly around the background, before it was all constructed, with Versamark ink, then sprinkled with Perfect Pearls gold powder. I brushed off the excess and returned it to the jar, then wiped the whole with a dry tissue, which cleans off the surplus powder beautifully.
The final details were the flat back pearls by Kaisercraft.

  11. How clever you are to come up with this background & design it to fit with the pretty dies. It's just perfect for a hairstylist, and the colors are just so pretty. Well done on this difficult commission. My hat's off to you, because this would have been a super tough one for me to think of a way to do this request. TFS & Hugs.
