Decoupage and a Diecut

Welcome

I had fun making this card, and tried a new die as well as a new technique.

Love this die and how it cuts just part of the card, and you can have the drama of the under layer showing through.

As it was a birthday card I embossed the sentiment in gold, (despite it looking bronze here)

The flowers, a freebie stamp with the Craft Stamper Magazine, designed by Elizabeth Borer,  were stamped in Espresso ink and painted with twinkling H2O paints, masking them off to give a grouping and some dimension.  Before adhering them I embossed them from behind to give some dimension, and added some foam tape to keep that dimension.

They still looked flat, so I stamped another flower, painted it and added it over  the corner image, again embossing the petals and using foam tape - then I stamped another image and coloured the centre only and cut that out and embossed it and again used foam tape to keep the dimension - my first attempt at decoupage!!

This gives some idea of the finished dimension.
The final details were micro beads for the flower centers and some sequins.

  18. Decoupage (and Iris folding) were two of the techniques that I used when I first started making cards. They are still two of my favorite ways to make a card, but I haven't done too many that way lately. You did a fabulous job with this technique. I hope you'll make more cards using decoupage because I know they'll be a lovely as this one.
