Flora, Fauna and a Tag

Welcome
I am so glad you are visiting here.
I would also like to welcome my newest follower Shaz From Calligraphy Cards - Shaz in Oz

Another card for a gardening friend, and a second entry in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5 - this time the Never Before Used Schtuff is the lattice die, and the stack of patterned paper I used.

I went to the Botanicals 6x6 stack by TrimCrafts as a starting point for the floral theme, but I was also inspired by Grace at Th-ink-ing of You in the way I used the lattice Die Cut.

I matched the card base to some of the flowers in the paper, and cut the lattice in an off-white card to match the ecru colour in the background, I could have used gold, as the paper is pearlised and gives of a strong golden sheen in the bright light.

The tag was made using a scrap that I found amongst some very early 'experiments' in my crafting days, and I sprayed it with a gold spray, then dabbed some Versamark ink over it, sprinkled some gold ep and heated it from behind.  The edges were also gold embossed on both tags.

The butterflies were cut from foiled cardstock.

Another view of the card, this time showing the light hitting the gold sheen.

Loved this card by the time I finished it!

  12. This is stunning Maxine... all the shine and sparkle are so pretty. I love those gold butterflies and I especially like the way you added one to the tag. I'm glad you took a separate pic of it so we could see it - you know, the tag by itself would make a fab addition to any gift but coupled with the pretty card, it's twice the gorgeousness.
