Welcome
I really enjoyed making this card with it's hints of spring, desperately wanted here as winter is being very reluctant to leave :-)
I painted the tulip die cut with twinkling H2O's, and mounted it over some freehand cut dp.
I have had the die for over 12 months and never used it... I think that qualifies for Darnell's NBUS challenge (Never Before Used Schtuff)
The dragonflies were also cut with a NBUS die, using vellum.
The clouds were simply Moonlight White ink sponged directly onto the blue
card stock.
The sentiment was embossed with silver halogen ep - unfortunately the sparkle does not show in this photo.
The finishing accents were the clear rhinestones on the dragonfly bodies and also across the base of the card.

How lovely Maxine - your card looks like it is a snapshot of Floriade - the Flower festival here in Canberra - it is famous for it's tulips. Love it - thanks for sharing! :)

That die is so beautiful painted up with Twinkling H2O's! Your dragonflies cut from vellum are so pretty and love your sky sponging. You knocked this one out of the park- Homerun!!!
ReplyDeletevery pretty Maxine.
ReplyDeleteMaxine, we're looking forward to Autumn, and you're longing for Spring!This pretty card sure is going to usher it right in. I LOVE the tulip treatment...makes me think of pictures I see of the blooming Holland fields. At first glance, your dragonflies made me think of the windmills (still thinking Holland I guess) until I got a closer look. Delightful & perfect embellies to that lovely field. Great work on your clouds in that shining blue sky too! If this doesn't make the recipient feel Spring, I sure don't know what will! Splendid work with the H2O's too, that's something I struggle with. (and I'd be proud to have you CAS ANY card I ever share!) TFS & Hugs.
ReplyDeleteMaxine your adorable card just shouts Spring! I love all the embellishments.
ReplyDeleteI love all the tulips Maxine. A very Spring-like card. The H2Os give it a a very pretty shine just like their real petals. The vellum makes very delicate dragonflies too. Kate x
ReplyDeleteWonderful creativity Maxine. Love spring with the bright tulips and other flowers, all blooming at once. Especially like the smell of spring. Has a hypnotic lazy affect on me. Love the card. Fall is in the air here.

This is cute and such a bright, cheery card and it makes me think of spring which is my favourite season. I looked at this again Maxine and wow... there is a lot of work went into this. All those brightly coloured flowers didn't just happen with a die!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful creation Maxine, ideal for our current challenge and thank you for participating with your lovely design. {The Crafters Café aNNie DT Member}
