Welcome
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my visitors a peaceful and wonder-filled Easter.
The inspiration for this card started with some wrapping paper that was around a small gift I received last year - I loved the butterfly paper with the silver highlights, so saved as much of it as I could.
As there was not enough for a full card background, I tried inking the (masked) card base with some silver pigment ink, but it was not really successful.
So I sprinkled silver ep onto it - too thick, grabbed a fan paint brush and lightly brushed over the ep, and then heated it to get this effect. Loved it!
This shot gives an idea of the silver on the paper
I trimmed the edge of the paper with a scalloped edge die from Paper Smooches, and layered that over a thin strip of silver ribbon, which gave a smooth transition onto the embossed area
I then silver embossed the sentiment onto this die cut that was in my 'promise box', already sponged with pink and sprayed with silver shimmer spray, added the wee butterfly die-cut from silver sparkle card and the card was finished.
I am linking this to:
(Favourite line, Ribbon, Diecut and pink - all elements I use frequently and love.
Great to see them as a combination)
Thank you for visiting my blog - may your day be blessed

ReplyDeleteMaxine, a very Happy Easter wish to you. Love this beautiful card, and your inspiration paper is so very pretty. How marvelous that you got creative enough to make the small piece of paper work with so many other elements to create such a stunning card. The silver ribbon tucked under the butterfly paper was a perfect transition to this marvelous red & silver. As Bonnie said, a most happy accident, which worked marvelously to finish your lovely card! Have to remember to try this..the embossed silver streaks gave so much texture and sparkle. TFS & Hugs
