Positive and Negative Butterfly

Welcome

I have a relative who loves butterflies on her cards, so this is her card for this year.

The butterfly die is a Marianne Creations one that I have had for many years. After cutting it out, I painted it with Tattered Angels Glam Glitter Paint in Heffalump.

Underneath the top layer I had sprayed a generous layer of Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Cosmopolitan Pink, spreading it with a brush to get some good coverage, then spraying again.

The above photo gives some idea of the glitter and sparkle on this feature.

The sentiment (from Montarga) was silver embossed, and the edges of the base and top layers were all sponged lightly with Spun Sugar DI.
The final detail was to scatter some silver sequins over the card.

  11. I really like how you put the die cut butterfly back into the hole you cut it out of. THat is a neat effect.

As for grandma magic cards Splitcoast has a tutorial on how to make a magic card (similar but not the same we did, in fact looks complicated. You Tube has a "Magic Card with Dawn" that looks easy. The magic part isn't as large of cut out but still you get the idea. I hope that helps.

  13. Maxine, this is just gorgeous, and splendid idea to have the negative as you've done, with the lacey butterfly over it. I love Lindy's sprays, and what a pretty result you've gotten with it, on this card. Never thought to move it with a brush...good idea. I've tried blowing it with the Spritzer tool. Well done and Happy wkend. TFS & Hugs
