Welcome
I recently taught how to use scoring to add interest to a card, and in the same class, I wanted the participants to just use black and white and a touch of colour.
I needed another sympathy card, so that's what I made.
I stamped the large image from the SU set 'Lovely as a Tree" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and also the sentiment (an unmarked stamp) Unfortunately as they are both wood mounted stamps, I could not repeat the stamping, so the images are not as crisp and black as I would like.
I added a wee touch of olive green under the trees with my Polychromo pencils.
Here you can see the scoring that I added - there was also one scored line above the image. the scoring added interest without detracting from the image and sentiment.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, Maxine, with a well-loved set!
ReplyDeleteI think the one stamping of the tress with the touch of green looks great. The scoring is one of those fun things that we used to do all the time before cards were embossed with folders Such a fun but easy way to add interest to a card. Blessings.

ReplyDeleteHi Maxine, a beautiful sympathy card, love the way the scored lines add interest without extra bulk to the card, I think your stamping looks fine, the way it is, looks like the trees are further in the distance.... have a wonderful week... Megan

ReplyDeleteThe scoring adds a great detail of texture, and I quite like the softer stamping on the trees, and especially for this type of card. The slight touch of color on the grass is another nice subtle detail. It's very pretty and most appropriate for the occasion that you needed - Well done! TFS & Hugs
