Wrapping Paper Sympathy

Welcome.

As you all know, inspiration can come from anywhere.
I was out shopping with a friend recently and we spotted some very interesting wrapping paper - it was fairly expensive, and it was being sold by the sheet, so we decided on two designs that we both liked, bought them, then halved the sheets, and told ourselves we were shopping wisely!

I made this sympathy card for the family of a lady who had loved gardening, and one of the sheets of wrapping paper was a perfect background,

as you can see in the above photograph, it had gold highlights on it.

The butterfly die is Pippi, by Memory Box. I sprayed a snippet of card with red perfect pearls, and then with an old silver spray I have.  (The perfect pearls sprays seem to be off the market now) and mounted it over a twist of metallic thread, with three Champagne pearls for the body.

The sentiment, by Our Daily Bread Designs was gold embossed, trimmed, and the edges of the panel were also gold embossed , and this was finished with a strip of Champagne adhesive pearls.

  15. What a good idea. This is such pretty paper. I have done it with a pretty serviette modge-podged to card, but not with wrapping paper. I haven't even seen wrapping paper as pretty as this very often. You have put it to good use and made a very suitable card for the sad occasion. Kate x

  18. The floral wrap is just lovely, and how wonderful you & your friend were able to split the cost of it. Certainly made a gorgeous card, and gosh, I didn't know the P.pearls were unavailable just now. I forget to use those, but they do some amazing shimmer, either dry or as sprays. This is a very pretty & elegant sympathy card...I love anything with florals in it! Well done. TFS & Hugs
