Welcome
This card was made for a man who is a wonderful artist, and I am always a bit intimidated when I get to make a card for him...
I started by using the feather stamps from Close To My Heart.
The patterned one was stamped using a rainbow pad, but I cannot recall the colours I used on the red/orange one.
The green one I think I used Cottage Ivy, Bamboo Shoots and Pear Tart inks from Memento
blending the individual inks on the stamp before stamping on the card. After stamping, I fussy cut them so I could juggle them on the card.
The sentiment was stamped in espresso ink using a Montarga Stamp, and die cut with the S/B tag die, then attached with brads, through the ribbon and onto the kraft paper.
This was all then mounted onto a deep green (think Hunter Green) base.

Hello dear Maxine,
ReplyDeleteBefore I get down to complimenting you on this super feathery card you have created, I want to thank you for the two tips you shared with me regarding foam dots versus cartons and how to keep a card under heavy books so that they don't get warped. I always knew about putting the card under a heavy pile of books but would not keep it long enough as I was too excited to pull it out and admire it. Ever since you reminded me, I am religiously following it and my cards are much better. I have noticed that the card has to be placed immediately under a pile of books. THANK YOU!
Your masculine card is awesome and what nice colours you have used. The base card stock is very matching. And what great fussy cutting there. I thought they had been die cut. I like the brads too.
Love,
Monica

I know that intimidation factor, as I feel it whenever I send one of my cards to one of the card gurus I admire. However, I think you need have no fear on this most artistic card. Love that background...it looks quite ethnic and is stunning with those vivid patterns in the feathers. I love the way you've arranged them and also like the S/B tag done vertically with the brads. That's a great design idea, and one I don't think I've ever tried. This is a splendid card, Maxine, and your arty friend will love it! TFS & Hugs.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, Maxine!!!! I LOVE the design and the beautiful feathers! Kisses, my friend.
