Vintage Elegance

Welcome

Yes, another post ... I am out babysitting and have some extra time!
I made this card for a young woman in her late teens some months ago.

The image I used is one from (the now defunct) Kiwi Stamping, that I must have had for at least a decade, possibly longer - it was time it saw ink again.

I stamped it in black ink, and then paper pieced the frock and hat, and added shadows with coloured pencils.  The skin tones, hair parasol, and shoes are all Prismacolor pencil coloured

The necklace and beads have had dimension and shine added with Cottage Ivy Piccolo

The sentiment was embossed with Platinum E.P, directly on the card base, beside the lace that I tucked under the edge of both panels, and some champagne coloured rhinestones were added too.
The background panel was one that I had discarded much earlier, and I cannot recall which mica medium I used, possibly some Semco paints....

I repeated the image on the inside left of the liner in London Fog ink.

  13. I love this card Maxine! That image is just so retro looking and she is right up my alley. lol I was glad to hear you call her dress a frock, but that is what we used to always call them, most people have no clue when I say a frock. lol But that is how I refer to my grandma's dresses and my late husband's grandma's dresses. One I saw his grandma go back the hall way and her frock flair out catching my attention. The only probably was I was the only one in the house. lol Saw his grandma's ghost. I was fine with it, she was checking out her house after we added on to it. So call this dress a frock go so well with the image. Love the wonderful background and lace too, then the vertical sentiment embossed. Just looks amazing! Hugs, Brenda

  26. I love how you your cards off with that little something extra on the inside. This is a lovely idea to just repeat the beautiful figure.
I love those elegant ladies and can just imagine her walking along twirling her parasol knowing she looked so lovely. A gorgeous delicate green certainly was the correct colour to go with that lovely pink on the background.
    A beautiful card.
    God Bless, Neet xx
