Red, White and a Touch of Gold

Welcome

A quick post this evening, that will most likely be my last until after I am moved... I am knee deep in boxes at the moment!!

This card was made for my small swap group, where the challenge this month was to use the
Stamp Etching technique.

I had trouble finding an "open" image that was large enough for the technique, and ended up using one from a magazine set, which included the die and sentiment

I stamped the image using Memento Ladybug ink, and the etching lines were made using a standard ball point (Biro) pen, as my fine art pens are packed - I was nearly cross eyed by the time I finished it!

The sentiment was stamped in the same ink, and I hand cut the banner and inked the edges.
The ribbon was layered over the embossed panel, then the rose and sentiment adhered.

Thank you for visiting - any  comments you may leave are appreciated

Singing Thanks

Welcome

It feels as though it has been weeks since I posted here - and the next few weeks be equally sparse, as I have sold my house and will be packing and moving in early December.  I suspect that any posts I do make will be of cards that I have made previously and not shared.

I would also like to welcome Cheryl of Cheryl Quilts as a follower.  Do pop over and look at her beautiful work.

This week is another wonderful scripture, designed by Karen Murray and available at the  Word Art Wednesday  blog,  where a new challenge has started.  Our sponsor is the wonderful
Sugar Pea Designs, who are providing a $25 voucher for the winner.

This card started when I was sorting through 'stuff' on my desk, and came across this front panel off a note card that I had received, and saved, some years ago.

I trimmed it down to fit the green card base that was also on the desk - yes I am a bit of a messy crafter, and I have a large desk too....

Snippets Galore

Welcome

I made this card for a wee girl, and must admit that I am rather pleased with it.  The photos do not pick up all the glitter and sparkle, but it really is a very glittery card!

The paper is from a pack of "scrap paper offcuts" that one could buy cheaply at one point, and has gorgeous sparkly stylised flowers on it

The balloons were fiddly as they come as one die, so to get the various colours I had to make various cuts with the die (An unmarked,  NBUS one that I have had for a year or so) and also do some fussy cutting with scissors...

The '2' is from a Kaisercraft set, and the candles were another unmarked NBUS die set

I finished the inside with the sentiment and a trimming of the patterned paper.

Silver Butterflies and Scripture

Welcome

This week a new challenge starts at Word Art Wednesday, and our sponsor for this challenge is

Who is not only sponsoring the challenge with a $50 voucher for the winner, but is also giving a discount of 25% off everything - use the code 25Off

As the scripture is quite long, I decided to keep the card simple, and started by matching up various shades of card with the colours in the paper (which was from a very cheap pack in a Dollar Shop!)

I decided to add some interest by offsetting the layers behind the scripture, then added some butterflies cut from a piece of silver foil that was the seal on some cream cheese.

I finished the inside of the card with a narrow strip from the patterned paper that I ran through a crimper.

All the layers of card, and the patterned paper, were swiped over a C.P. ink pad, Queen for a Day.
