Welcome
The challenge in my New Zealand swap group this month was Sepia!!
So I made another glue background!!
(I think I am becoming addicted to this current favourite technique)
When the glue was dry, I brushed Vintage photo DI over it as my starting point.
I then sprayed it with water and blotted it - big oops!
The glue re-activated and I had fun removing the pieces of paper towel that stuck!!
The flower was cut from card that I had brushed Tattered Rose DI over, and after cutting (with a very old S/B die), I brushed some more Vintage Photo ink over it.
The leaves were cut from card I had brushed Bundled Sage, then also edged with Vintage Photo.
The centre of the flower was a dull pink brad that I embossed with copper ep.
The lace was some from my stash, and the muslin was wiped over the Vintage Photo ink also.
The sentiment, a magazine freebie, was copper embossed
I finished the inside with some copper toned washi tape

What a beautiful card, Maxine! I love the big rose and the lace. I am going to find out more about the glue technique as it seems interesting. Hugs, my friend.
ReplyDeleteMaxine, your sepia card is gorgeous with its many layers, textures, and more.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, Maxine! Love the color scheme and the addition of the muslin is just perfect! I have some stashed away in a drawer but never think to use it! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing at my Crafty Wednesday challenge this month!

Lovely card!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty shabby chic design, Maxine. Fun sentiment!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card Maxine.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sepia tone and the vintage styled rose is perfect on your fabulous card Maxine x. I love the background technique too x.
ReplyDeleteI am really loving this technique on your cards too Maxine! I love this card, the sepia look looks so pretty. Your glue technique gives such interest to the background, love the flower and the softness of it and the leaves. The lace....well I'm in love with the lace and cheese cloth/muslin. I wouldn't have though about the water re-activating the glue though. lol I bet that was a pita removing the pieces of paper towel that stuck! But in the end you won out and have this gorgeous card to show for it! I need to look in my stash for some glue and try this, minus the spritz of water and paper towel. lol Laughing with you and not at you! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteDelightful!
ReplyDeleteI really struggled with this one but your card is spectacular Maxine. I like the layered flower and the lace you added.
ReplyDeleteOh Maxine what a beautiful card. I love everything about it. I haven't tried either the glue technique or sepia, Both intimidate me a bit but after seeing your beautiful creations I will have to try both, Outstanding job on the card and techinques. ♥
ReplyDeleteA very lovely card the back ground is fascinating as well as effective. x
ReplyDeleteWe ended up being neighbors in the gallery at Funky Junky so I wanted to stop by and say HI Neighbor. You did such a great job of capturing the sepia tones. I especially love the thought of how you were able to remove the paper towel. Something I would do.
ReplyDeleteHow beautifully done! I so love the background, and the pretty flower and the lacy boarder!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colours
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I did not know this technique.
