Simply Swiped

Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to my newest follower, Jessica, who's blog is here.

This challenge's sponsor over at Word Art Wednesday is Swoon Party Shop

I was inspired by this video by Natasha Foote in making this style of card.

I made the background by simply swiping the ink pad over the background card.
I used a swirling motion when applying the ink pad (Lucky Clover DOX ink).

I then distressed the sides of the scripture panel with scissors - gently as I was using copy paper, then I sponged it with Tea Dye DI., and splattered it with black paint from a fine paint brush.

The cardstock used for the base has a linen texture to it, which added even more interest to the background.

The inside was finished with some washi tape.

  15. I like the swinked background Maxine. Never thought to do the swinking in patterns rather than straight lines. Will have to have a go at that myself.
