Welcome
I have been away again - this time with two friends having a 'girls weekend' - we made it a four day weekend and had a wonderful time in a small seaside town just a couple of hours away.
This card was made when I was in a bit of a slump, and needed to fill an order - I was inspired by the butterfly image on some Tim Holtz tissue paper that I have hoarded treasured for years...
I trimmed it so the butterfly was in a corner, and then coloured the butterfly - sorry, I can't remember what I used to colour it with - and mounted the tissue on some thin white card for stability.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using platinum ep. onto the pink card I used for the base, trimming it into a banner, and mounted it over the background tissue paper, giving it a narrow border of silver glitter paper either side.
To add some more interest I wrapped the tissue panel with some narrow silver ribbon, and put a bow where the ribbon crossed, lining it up to be at the base of the sentiment panel
the inside was finished with some matching washi tape.

Maxine: Your birthday card is gorgeous!!! The placement of the crossed ribbons and bow at the bottom of the sentiment is perfect! They draw attention to the slim message and let the butterfly 'flutter' in the corner by itself! Great design layout!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!

I don't know why this has taken a week to reach my inbox, but it was worth waiting for. Of course I love butterflies and have used tissue paper on several occasions, but I don't think I have ever coloured it. This is very pretty, and I always like all your little finishing touches. Kate x
ReplyDeleteMaxine, I've always admired your flair with EP, and this card shows why! Just the right amount, accenting not distracting, the end result is so very pretty. Love the colors for the butterfly too.
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely!
