Bookbinding and Patterned Papers

Welcome

I don't know what is up with blogger, but my 'followers'  icons do not show up here on my laptop, but they do show on my phone - go figure - I can't!!

I made this card for the small swap group I am in -
the challenge this month was to use the bookbinding construction technique.

I was sorely lacking in mojo - I think the winter had scared it off to warmer climes, so I resorted to a Kaiser Craft 6x6 pad called Miss Nellie, and this came together

On the top section, I added some gold ribbon and topped it with green chiffon, tying a bow to one side.
Immediately below that, on the body of the card, I added two of the 'tear-outs' from the pad.

At the base of the card I adhered a topper that I had stamped on - all very simple

The main design in the paper had a metallic element, which you can see here

I used another strip of the paper at the base of the inside of the card

I enjoyed constructing this card - it is a simple way to make a slightly 'different' card.

I am linking this to:

  9. Great use of your patterned papers Maxine. It really is a cool card design to make something a little different without being too difficult to make. Watch out for next month.... it's my choice and it's a bit more difficult!

  12. I am not sure what I would have done to fit that criteria, but that is a very pretty card. The paper with the shiny oval frames is beautiful, and the ribbon and edgers compliment it well. Kate x

  14. Try clearing your cache and cookies Maxine and see if that helps. Might have to restart your computer as well. Whenever I'm having issues like that, that is what I do and it almost always fixes the issue. I can see your followers from my end.

Love this beautiful card! The paper is stunning, it does all the work, you just added accessories and made it even more amazing. Love the ribbons at the top with the scallop boarders underneath. The sentiment is perfect and I love that you used the same paper inside. Hugs, Brenda
