Welcome
I have had this post half done for days!! I'll blame the heat!
A special welcome to Sue Blamey of Sue's Card Spot - do pop over and see her beautiful work!
Another sympathy card today ..
- I started by stamping the large leaf stamp for Concorde and 9th Uplifting Thoughts Set, using a technique demonstrated by Natasha Foote here.
I then added a couple of strips of gold behind the opposing corners of the main panel - these were made by smoothing out the gold wrapper from chocolates and gluing the wrappers to cardboard...
The greeting, from the same set, was stamped using the darkest of the inks used on the leaves,
Memento Cottage Ivy.
I added a strip of gold tape to the inside, and the two sentiments came from the
Whimsy Stamps Sympathy So Deeply Sorry Set

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and perfect as a sympathy card Maxine x.
ReplyDeleteWish it was hot here Maxine! lol We are never happy, it is either too hot or too cold. I like perfect weather, but that doesn't happen very often. I love your beautiful serene sympathy card! Those falling leaves are so pretty but what really blew me away is that the gold corners are from chocolate papers! What a fabulous idea!!! The gold really gives that extra boost of elegance to your card. I think is sympathy card is so peaceful and I hope if you have to use it, it will bring that sense of peace to the recipient. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Maxine, I think you must be getting our summer weather, today is 29C and the fourth really hot day of summer! We have been having lots of rain, including a storm most days. I love the reuse of the choc wrappers on the card and the stamping is such a great idea, thank you for the link to the tutorial. Have a wonderful week... Megan

What a great idea with the gold paper from chocolate. I would never have thought of that. I learn so much from you.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer to send a card saying "Thinking of You" rather than a 'sympathy' quote and this, with those leaves, works just fine to me. I must check out the technique.
Blessings, Neet xx
Lovely creation and a nice way to reuse a paper product!
