Welcome
I am posting a day late for this fortnight's challenge at Word Art Wednesday, where our sponsor this time is Stamp Simply with a most generous prize of a $20 credit to their store.
The rose is from the Thinking of You Rose Bundle, which includes the matching die.
I coloured it with Polychromo pencils, and then added clear Wink of Stella.
A few minutes later I picked up the Wink of Stella pen to add another layer of sparkle, and layered it with silver WoS, not Clear.. and that's where the deeper purple tones came from, as originally it was nearer pink!
To finish the card I layered a strip of vellum to one side when assembling the card, and then found some beautiful matching mauve sequins to add over it
\
The background was a shaving creme and Brusho's panel that I made when having fun with my friend, and it actually has some wee spots of mauve.

Thjat is a lovely rose stamp. You get very good results with your Wink of Stella pen. I can hardly see where I have used mine. And you even catch the shine in your photos. I see you did use two layers so maybe that is what did it.
ReplyDeleteI still love the shaving foam background. I am going to try it but it has been too hot here to do much playing this week. Kate x
Stunning background. I love these accidently developping things. It' s really a great background to show this beautiful purple rose. Very admirable card!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for entering the EAC challenge.
Hugs Uschi
I'm sure there are a gew purple roses and for sure they are a bit pale, just as your beautiful one! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteYou've given the Scripture verse a very pretty and feminine artsy background. Like pairing opposites together. Kudos.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with that image. It has so much character, and yet, it's still soft and elegant. Fabulous background panel too. Thanks for sharing this with us at The Paper Shelter!

ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful Maxine! I love your shaving cream/brusho's background, compliments your rose so nicely! The rose is just gorgeous, I love that the deeper purple tones comes from the silver WOS! That is so cool looking. Love the scripture too. Again, beautiful card Maxine! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! I love your softly colorful panel and the subtle sparkle on the rose. Thanks so much for joining us at Little Red Wagon this week!
ReplyDeleteYour soft colors and that verse are such a great combination on this lovely card.
ReplyDeleteLovely card and verse. They go well together. Thank you for joining us at Through the Craft Room Door this week. Hope to see you back here again soon. Judy DT
ReplyDeleteLovely shaving foam panel, that is something I must do one day soon as I have not used it for simply ages.
ReplyDeleteI love how the wrong Wink of Stella pen darkened areas of the rose and gave it a different colour. It still worked really well with that gorgeous background.
Blessings, neet xx
