Welcome
I needed a card for a birthday in a HURRY - all my tripping around has left me scrambling to keep up..
I have a beautiful calendar in my craft room, and the background of this card is part of the panel for February.
As the card is for my decidedly arty and creative grand daughter, I decided to be a bit steampunk-ish with it, and coated a couple of chipboard cogs with Inka Gold Copper Paint - and despite the way the light is catching them and making them look as though I used two different colours, they are the same!
I then trimmed out the birdcage image from a tissue box and added some copper ink highlights to it
The sentiment was stamped onto a snippet of the paper and then copper embossed before being trimmed into a banner shape and mounted it using foam tape... I initially embossed the sentiment directly onto the paper, but it got 'lost' in the design
The inside was decorated with some washi tape.
My 12 year old grand daughter loved the card!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool card for your granddaughter Maxine! I love how the lights make the cogs look like you used two different colors, that is so fun. But what I really love his how you upcycle part of a calendar page to make this fun card! I love the roses and cogs together, the little lamp is a nice surprise and of course the flourish...I forget what it is call...looks great in the "newsprint" look. I'm sure your granddaughter is going to love this card! Hard to keep up when so much is going on!!! Hugs, Brenda
