Welcome
Just at the moment we are having major internet problems ,and are having to hotspot to our phones for data, so I will not be around blogland until the problem is fixed - this is compounded by the fact that the family and I are in isolation thanks to Covid!!
This is my final post as a DT member for Word Art Wednesday, as I have decided to stand down.
It has been a privilege to work with Karen and the team for the past five years.
The new Word Art Wednesday challenge starts today, and our sponsor is Altenew, who are giving a generous gift of a $15 voucher to their store.
This was started with a piece of offcut paper that I stencilled in purple, and further trimmed into various shapes to make the background
The wonderful scripture verse, which is available free on the Word Art Wednesday blog, was die cut and had colour brushed on the edges before removing the die.
The flower was stamped three times and trimmed into the various layers, and the same colour painted onto the petals , then it was covered in Wink of Stella. The layers had foam tape between them, and a heart shaped brad formed the centre.
The stencil was a NBUS one I bought at a craft show years ago... again I wiped the edges of the pieces along the inkpad to 'frame' them
The final two pieces were attached to the inside of the card to finish it.

I hope your internet gets fixed soon. Best wishes to your family and whoever is suffering from covid, and hoping it will soon pass. One of my brothers and his wife are currently also in isolation at the moment.

Beautiful card Maxine. Sorry to hear you are in iso... stay strong! Hope that COVID doesn't affect you too badly. I'm still coughing - doctor told me it can last 6 - 10 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI pray all improves for you and your family soon, Maxine. Your card is lovely and I love the hand made flower. Thank you for sharing your Floral creation with us at Jan's Digi Blog Challenge. Hope you will join us again. Good Luck and Happy Crafting!

Absolutely gorgeous card Maxine! I'm sure you will be missed by your crafty friends at Word Art Wednesday. I hope your internet gets back to normal as well as you and the family. Thanks for sharing your lovely project with us at Pammie's Inky Pinkies. We love seeing all the wonderful entries.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. We had Covid in December and it was terrible. Remember to allow people to bless you with meals or groceries to drop off at your door. That was the hardest for me because I didn't want to trouble anyone. If I lived closer I would definitely bring a meal.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty bloom. All the layers give it great dimension and it just pops against the stenciled purple. Very pretty! Thank you for joining the summer flowers challenge at Allsorts. Wishing a speedy recovery for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMaxine, your card is gorgeous - love all that layering and the beautiful flower. I know you will be greatly missed on the DT.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Maxine. Great details and the flower is fabulous. So sorry to hear that you are stepping down from WAW. We will miss you! I hope the internet is fixed quickly and your isolation is short. Take Care!
ReplyDeleteFantastic creation! Love the Wink of Stella flower. The scripture verse is so true. The purple is perfect for a highlight feature.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Jim
Maxine: first of all, I'm sorry to hear about how Covid is affecting you and your family. Prayers that symptoms are mild and everyone recovers quickly! Hopefully your internet issues also get worked out quickly. And I'm sad to think of you stepping down from the WAW design team. You've created many amazing cards that have showcased the selected Scripture verses beautifully. Take care. I hope I still see you around blogland. If you have time to be a GD, I would love to have you sometime at Heart's Quest and/or FarmQuest challenge blogs. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you chose! And a great flower! Hugs, Gerrina

Oh goodness Maxine, I'm so sorry to hear you and the family have Covid! I'm hearing more people having it again. I guess it will be a long time, if ever, before we are rid of it. Your card is gorgeous! I love that stenciled background, and I love the way you did the scripture, so pretty and soft looking. That flower is so cool layered up like that and I can see the sparkle so well. Feel better soon!!! Hugs, Brenda

How annoying it is when your internet is not working, maybe more disappointing than annoying. I am suffering at our caravan at the moment and luckily it is reasonably warm so I can sit out of doors and play catch up today.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you have not got the dreaded Covid and that whoever has it does not have it too bad and that it soon passes for them.
A lovely card, a beautiful flower and verse and I am sure that Word Art Wednesday will miss you being a member of their DT team. Well done on the service you have given them for so long.
Blessings, Neet xx
