Welcome
A more usual post this time - I was discharged on Friday, but have only just got to my computer today. Still a few issues to resolve, but nothing serious has been revealed - thankfully.
I made this card some time ago, using bits and bobs that were on my desk
The background was one that I I had made last year, by taking prints off an acrylic block inked with distress oxides - this is a second pull, and resulted in a lovely, soft toned, panel.
The sentiment panel was sparkly gold embossed on a kraft die cut that had been sprayed with a gold mica spray, and 'floating' around on my desk for ages before I used it.
As you can see in the lower corner of the above photo, the butterflies were punched from some dry embossed gold paper - again a snippet from on my desk
The flowers were cut with a very old S.B set, and layered up in different combinations of the three colours, and secured with a brad I had embossed with the same gold I used on the sentiment.
The assembled panel was adhered over a gold sparkle card layer and then the cream base card.
I finished the inside with some floral washi tape, using a colour that matched one of the inks on the background panel.
I am linking this to:
Opt, Use metal - gold embossing, gold sparkle card, gold butterflies, gold brads
Gorgeous card.

ReplyDeleteA very pretty background and lovely to see you at Stamping Sensations although I'm afraid we do need to see predominantly stamping to reflect the theme on entries.

Your cards are always so clever and creative, Maxine. I would have never guessed that you used snippets, but you know I'm a BIG advocate of using them creatively and you nailed it. I'm always inspired by your ideas and execution. Also, thanks so much for your kind and encouraging comments on my blog. You always cheer me so. I do thank God for you, my friend, and for the gift of encouragement He has given you. I praise God that you are using your gifts/talents for His glory. I appreciate you so much.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

So glad you are home again. Take care and get well quickly :) xx
ReplyDeleteHi Maxine, a beautiful card and so glad to hear you are home again and on the mend, on my last hospital trip I was peacefully looking out the city windows at the ocean on the horizon when someone abruptly shut the curtain, shall we say paper curtains are not nearly as interesting as out the window... Have a wonderful weekend... Megan
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are out of the hospital, but your pictures were interesting for me to see. A lovely card using "bits and bobs." I find that's sometimes the hardest thing to do, I save this and that and then look through it and occasionally find something to use! Praying for your continued progress and return to feeling better! Blessings to you, Kathy
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are home from the hospital Maxine and sitting at your desk. That sounds like a good sign to me. Also glad to hear that nothing serious has been revealed. Keep getting better. What a great card using did bits from your desk. I love the background and have tried this but I haven't had much success. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sending healing cyber hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteA pretty card. A lovely colour blended background and gorgeous touches of embossing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in with our September challenge "Anything Mixed Media Goes" at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck x
Love how you alternated the layers on the three flowers. Then, of course, my favourite type of background - anything with Distress Inks I love.
ReplyDeleteI have to smile at you coming out of hospital and reaching out to us in blogland. I don't know about you but I feel lost at times without my blogging friends. Anyway, the good news is that you are back home and there is nothing sinister to worry about. I just hope they get you all checked out and dusted down and declared 100% fit soon.
Take care, don't overdo things.
Bless you, Neet xx
What a wonderful way of using up "bits and bobs" Maxine. I hope you are feeling much better now. Thank you for entering the Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.
