Welcome
This is my mid-month reminder post for We Love Stamping - Stencilled Background Challenge,
there is a fabulous prize on offer.. more on that later
I chose to make another birthday card, this time for a young woman, and it is somewhat more vibrant than my first card for the challenge.
The main image is an Hero Arts Florals, Poppy stamp and Die set, coloured with Polychromo pencils, die cut and adhered to vellum. I used the wee ladybird to cover the conglomeration of stems at the base
I had started with the green panel and used iridescent medium through a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz layering stencil Dot Fade
The sentiment was embossed with silver ep, and mounted with foam dots.
The silver strips down the side were added as I had cut the panel down a tad too much... oops
I rounded the corners on all the elements to give a softer look, and the inside was decorated with the ends of the silver strips.
The prizes for this challenge come from Highlight Crafts and are a stamp set and a die set

What a great BD-card! Love the dots background! And it is perfect for our challenge at TIME OUT! So glad you enter it there! Thank you! Hope you have a fun weekend! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteLove your design and the sweet poppy really pops :D so well on the oval vellum shape! The stencilled background looks great too!
ReplyDeleteLove the effect of the background, just stunning. Using vellum behind the flower was such a good idea. Red and green are always fabulous together and it is nice to see them used outside of Christmas. Stunning card xx
ReplyDeleteVERY pretty card Maxine and whoever gets this will love it too. Love the colors you used and of course that great image. So pretty colored with the pencils.

Oh love those poppies! Thanks for joining us at Beyond the Blue!
ReplyDeleteLovely poppy birthday card, Maxine. The vellum panel softens the card nicely. Lovely coloring of the poppy image! Thank you for sharing at Word Art Wednesday this week.
ReplyDeleteA great effect using the vellum
ReplyDeleteMaxine, Love the colors and how vibrant it is. Your stenciled background is just the right touch for the bouquet of poppies Of course, loving that lady bug!
ReplyDeleteI do love a Poppy and this one is gorgeous, fab card.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely poppy certainly "pops" on the vellum, this is such a beautiful card, also love how you did the insert Maxine.

Maxine, this is so pretty. I love the flowers and your beautiful color choices!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty birthday card Maxine! First off I love how you colored your poppies and placed them on top of a vellum oval. But what I really love is how you did your background. Most of the time, not always-but a lot, we tend to use embossing paste on a white mat, but you have used a green mat and I love it! I don't think of using embossing paste on a colored background, but I need to! Love that little ladybug, so sweet and cute! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty Birthday card, Maxine. I love the dots as well as the lovely flowers. Your cards are always so sweet and I enjoy stopping by every time I visit. Hope you're doing well and having a blessed week.

Maxine: your card is stunning! The texture and layers are perfectly balanced and coordinated! Fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the challenge. I do like this card and I think the addition of the ladybird, even if it was for a reason, is a great one. It looks so good perched there on the stem. Love it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Neet xx
