Welcome
I had intended posting a couple of days ago, but life caught up with me a bit :)
For those wondering - we had some strong winds and rain here, but no damage. I did have to wait three days before hearing that family and friends in the affected areas were alright.
This card started with a white die cut I received in a RAK from the lovely Shelly of
My Creative Rumblings. It is called Flourishing Blooms cover Plate by SSS.
I painted it using watercolour paints, and added gold paint to the border and flower centres
The sentiment, which was gold embossed, was a magazine freebie. I layered it over some gold painted card to match the frame
The final details were some gold painted spots in the background,
which incidentally is dark blue, not black.
I used some narrow, gold dotted washi tape for the inside.

Beautiful Anniversary card, Maxine. The floral die really pops on the dark background. Take care and thank you for sharing at Word Art Wednesday this week!
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't have any damage from the strong winds and rain. I am sorry you had to wait to find out if family and friends were ok too, but happy to hear that they were! Wow, this is a beautiful card Maxine! I love the flowers you have watercolored. The yellow and gold just pops off that black background. You have did a wonderful job with making this panel, love the green leaves watercolored too along with the gold border going around the card. Just a very striking card indeed as well as very cheerful! Hugs, Brenda

Hi, Maxine! So grateful you did not suffer any adversities or damages from the recent storm. Thanks for letting us know! Your dancing flowers are darling. They remind me of a romantic evening in the background, when we danced to the light of the moon. Thanks for the inspiration and for submitting your creation at Jan’s Digi Stamp Challenges . I hope to see more of your designs soon.

Maxine, you are such an encouraging friend. I'm glad you and those you care about are ok. The weather here in the US has been unusual this year. So much flooding in certain areas. As for this card, the flowers and colors are spectacular and you always add so much extra details that make it pop so beautifully. One more thing I should probably know this but what is an RAK?
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect for an anniversairy card. Great making with alle the flowers and the stunning yellow colouring. I love the application of gold and the dark blue background. It should be love to create and give away such a beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your card with the Everybody Art Challenge.

Oh so beautiful! LOVE the striking yellow on black, it's gorgeous! So glad to read you are safe from our terrible storms. It was pretty scary here for a bit and we did have to go out and hand bail our backyard which had clogged drains and the water was rising close to entering the house! Glad to be through those three scary events. I just hope we don't have more around the corner, especially as we are going into Autumn!! Stay safe lovely. Hugs, Wends xoxo
