Welcome
And a very warm welcome to my newest follower Chrissy - a fellow New Zealand crafter, whose wonderful work can be seen here on her beautiful blog.
I was recently asked to make an anniversary card, and this is the result - problem is I didn't confirm with my customer which anniversary, (although I had seen her invitation), and it should have been a diamond anniversary card!! Oops!
Part of my inspiration came from the Inspiration Station graphic, with the simplicity of the image, and the 'floating' hearts.
This was very difficult to photograph, as the main layer is gold.. I cut a rectangle from it using a Peek-a-boo die, then cut out the numbers and letters.
The light gold hearts were a snippet I found in the die packet, and also the red inserts were there, cut from the same red card as the base!! Bingo!!
As the hearts came in one large "fall", I had to separate them into groups for the card.
The sentiment was a magazine freebie, and I embossed it in red
I added gold washi tape to the white panel inside - this will now be put away for future use...

Maxine what a beautiful card you have created. Thanks for sharing how the photo inpired you. Your colors work well and accenting with all the hearts on the gold backgound. The die cut showcasing the 50 yrs works so well nad the The script of the sentiment fits perfectly as well. Thanks for sharing with us at the Inspiration Station Challenge this month and I'm cheering for you to win the grand prize...Smiles, Kathy DT

Hi Maxine. What a clever lady you are taking a sentiment from the magazine and using it on your card. It is a great idea and reminds me to watch for things around me that can be used as well. I love how you laid out the hearts and the little cut out that houses the sentiment. Great job on this card.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great card and even though you got it wrong, it is sure to come in handy sooner or later. Love the red and gold xx
ReplyDeleteSometimes what looks to be simple is not so simple. A lot of thought went into this card and it shows. Beautifully done, even with the oops. It is quite the accomplishment to make a 60 year anniversary.
ReplyDeleteLove, Hugs and Blessings
Beautiful inside and out 🥰
ReplyDeleteWow, this is one gorgeous anniversary card, doesn't matter about the oops, because you can use this one maybe at a later date for someone. I am just bowl over by this cards beauty-a color combo I wouldn't have thought to use is just gorgeous. Love the design of the card too. By any chance, do you know who make that die cut out you used? Or what it is called? I've have search high and low for it and can't find it. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteOH! What an easy error to make, I did a 30-year Anniversary once and it should have been 40! Your card is just gorgeous, I love the red and gold and also the Super design.
