Welcome
I made this card for my Granddaughter whose birthday it is today
She loves cats, flowers and gardening, so loved this card.
I started with a piece of card that I had mopped up some ink with, and then sprayed (or should that be blotched) with some Mica spray.
The sentiment was cut with a snippet of the same dark blue card I used for the base, layered over two more layers of white card and then coated with Wink of Stella before adhering it.
The tulips were die cut from snippets of white card, embossed and stencilled with memento inks - the back layer I brushed the ink onto, the other I 'painted' using a wet brush dipped in the ink that I had 'stamped' onto an acrylic block.
The two cats were also cut from a snippet of black card - they are an old Memory Box set of dies. The front layer of tulips I mounted the flowers with foam tape to give some dimension, and added one of the cats peeping out between from the blooms
The inside I finished with an old 'fat cat' stamp from my stash.

Beautifully created card and love the kitties in the tulips, reminds me of here in previous years when I had 2 black cats and they would stroll through my flowers while I was weeding, I was always afraid of snipping their tails off!!

ReplyDeleteI just love this card! The tulips are really the springflowers that gives it all more colour outside and the cats playing 'hide and seek' are super! Made me feel a lot happier by seeing this (it is not so sunny here today...) Hugs, Gerrina

ReplyDeleteHi Maxine, a fun way to use up a scrap of card/inky pick ups. Love the layers of tulips with the kittens poking through, our Autumn leaves are still holding on, however the wild wilds are giving them a right whipping, other leaves are blowing off freely... Have a wonderful week.. Megan

That background is perfect for the subject and I love how you layered the flowers in front. Weaving the cat between the flowers like that makes is look so realistic.
ReplyDeleteA super card, no wonder she loved it.
Blessings, Neet xx

All my cat loving friends would love this. It is so cute and fun. Love how the one cat is actually in the tulips. Adding the wink of stella to the sentiment elevates the look and again I will have to remember that. Smiles, Kathy
