Brown and Gold

Welcome

I have made this card for our Grandson's dedication.  He is a wonderful little boy and it is a joy to have him in our family.

I started with this lovely rich chocolate brown card and embossed it. If anything the embossing made it seem an even richer brown.  This was layered over gold and then the cream card base.

I adorned the brown layer with a very simple embossed gold cross, which was mounted with foam, and a smaller cross mounted in the centre, again mounted with foam to give some subtle dimension.

The sentiment was also gold embossed on white - I cut the ends of the card by hand and was not happy with one end..... In this photograph you can see the gold layer.

  3. Maxine, this is stunning! I totally agree that the brown is so rich, and that the embossing adds to it. The gold layer under and the gold embossing compliment the brown perfectly. What an elegant card for such a special occasion!
Blessings to you and his family!

I will be keeping the card of course, and one day they'll all be scrapbooked, and even if he isn't interested when he is older - I'm sure I'll look back through them on many occasions!
