Welcome
I wanted to try the no-line pricking technique, and chose this Kiwiwstamping butterfly image to use (one of my original stamps) - the actual stamp had other markings on the wings, but I decided to sketch in some lines and followed those, easily done as the pricking is done from the back of the card.
I used watercolour pencils to colour the wings, and the change of markings gave me more scope, which I enjoyed. I added the background with blue chalk, then image was cut out using a Lacy Square die.
The sentiment (also from Kiwistamping, and another 'old' stamp) was stamped, cut and sponged and placed with brads onto the background.
The background paper was embossed in the D'vine Swirls folder after swiping a moonlight white ink pad over the folder before the embossing, to soften the colour.
The final touch was the lace across the bottom of the card - to hide where the page did not emboss - we in the antipodes use paper sized to British measurements that is a tad longer than the American sized folders.

Pretty card Maxine, love that technique! Thanks for joining in with the Sunday Stamper x
ReplyDeleteOh my, Maxine, this is so very pretty!I love how you've defined the outlines of the butterfly with the pricking, also the colours and the embossed background. Using the lace to cover up the shortfall in the embossing is a great idea. I have to say the American sizes irritate me too every time I use one of my EFs!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
