Backgrounds and Butterflies

Welcome

Although we are well into Autumn here, this card has a spring feel to it.

I started with finding a small bag of 'backgrounds' I had made when teaching my class various techniques last year. I was tidying my desk at the time, and got distracted.....
I tried them against various colours of card stock, and decided that the green was the one to use.  This was embossed with a daisy embossing folder that came with a magazine.

This background was made using the ink, spray, smash(or smooch) technique

This background was made using Spiced Marmalade DI on string wrapped around a block.  It was a cotton string that squished out flat in the stamping.

The featured butterfly is a cuttlebug die and embossing folder, one of my earliest purchases.  It was cut in the gold card and the vellum, but only the vellum was embossed, then layered. The pearls were the finishing touch.

The other smaller butterflies were cut and embossed from a sizzex die.
The sentiment was embossed on vellum, and then the vellum was torn and wrapped around the panel before it was mounted on the base.

  20. Simply smashing backgrounds, and loved that you used 2 such different ones as 'quilt blocks' to go over the pretty embossed background. Really clever use of the fun bkgrounds to turn into such a lovely & fresh card. Butterflies were a perfect embellie, and liked the vellum sentiment too. TFS & Happy wkend. Hugs too.
