Welcome
I had one of my class members ask for 'different' folds, so I taught this twisty-turny fold this month, which I found a tutorial for here on YouTube
Be warned, this is a photo heavy post :-)
Because our card measurements are not quite the same as the American ones, the image panel turns out to be just rectangular, but other than that, the same folds etc apply, and they still fit into a standard envelope
My accents included some strips of glitter on double sided tape.
I also took the dp and glitter strip onto the inside - here (above) you can see the way the card opens.
This was my trial card that I made before the class
The balloon had stickles applied, which I let dry before putting some dimensional glue over it - it gives a fabulous effect.
I also added some patterned paper and glitter to the bottom left corner, which gives a fabulous, continuous look to the card that really completes it nicely.
Both the stamps featured on these cards are from Hastings Rubber Stamps, a New Zealand firm.

It's always interesting to try different folds Maxine. This is a really cool fold and both your cards are lovely
ReplyDeleteI love finding new fun folds for cards. I am definitely going to check this tutorial out. Thanks for joining ScrapbookerPhD in our Bling Challenge - DT - Faith
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are fabulous Maxine. What a cute bear
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Maxine. I like different folds so I will have a look at the tutorial for this. The choice of colours and papers have made two very different cards even though they are the same shape. Very pretty butterflies behind the first one. Kate x
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards! I bet your class will be overjoyed with this fold. Looks great! Must check out that tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThese cards are so beautiful Maxine!! I didnt know you taught card classes. How wonderful! I wish I could come to one!! xxx
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are so awesome. Since I'm fold-challenged, I'm just so admiring that you learned how to do this from watching a video. How brave you are to then teach it to a class! Love the added shine on the glittered balloon. What dimension that created too. Both cards are just lovely. Also hoping (and prayers too) that your little one is doing ok. Poor baby to have a break & have to be in a cast. Good for her that she has a Gramma that can hopefully keep her entertained while she is incapacitated! Big hugs & TFS
ReplyDeleteI tend to stay away from fancy fold cards. Both of yours are fabulous!! I'm partial to the first one since it has butterfly paper :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous fold Maxine! I need to step out of the box a little more... I get in a rut and do the plain old 6 x 6 card most of the time but when I see projects like these, I get inspired to try them.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute images, especially that sweet little bear!
