Patchwork with Gold Accents

Welcome

This was a fun card to colour and make. It is an order for a wee boy.
The image was an (old) freebie from Beccy's Place

I coloured the image with chalks and fussy cut it

Popped it up on the dp with foam dots, capturing a piece of gold thread behind it (left over from my embroidery days).
There are also gold highlights on the stitches in the image.

I left a narrow border of the base orange card either side of the dp,
and pierced and faux stitched it.

The sentiment is an old stamp from Kiwi Stamping - one of my originals!  I embossed it with dark green ep, and then painted it with Ink Gold Gold paste, picked up and applied with a wet brush.  I love using it like that as you still get a great sheen with it, and can put it onto small areas.

  1. I love the hints of gold you added to your card Maxine, particularly on the lettering. I also like the cheerful colours you chose for the number... just perfect for a little person's birthday.
    Cheers,

  5. What a cozy, soft quilt this cute little bear has as his 'blankie'. I love the gold stitching round the frame, and love the sparkle of the gold embroidery thread tucked behind. I even hunted up some of my embroidery threads but keep forgetting to use this nifty idea. Great card & will be treasured. TFS &Hugs
