A Stencil; and Silhouette Trees

 Welcome

I have loved the cards I have seen with bare tree trunks around the net for some time, so not that long ago I bought a stencil - and put it in the NBUS tray, and there it stayed....
Until I needed a card recently for a friend who is having major health battles.
I took a deep breath and started sponging using distress inks - I eventually stopped, and was not very happy with the results, so the card took another break.

I came back to it with some more ideas and enlarged the sunset, adding some more colours to it, then drew the shadows on the tree with a water colour pencil, and moved the colour with a damp paintbrush on the trunks only.
Finally I felt it was finished.

I added this wee sentiment ( from the ODBD Faith card Sentiments set) on the outside

This inside sentiment from the same set was stamped on a die cut from the

I mounted the die cut over a piece of metallic paper to show it off even more.

In the end I was happy with the card.
