Snow Board Birthday

Welcome

I have been MIA as I took time out last week to indulge myself in another passion - embroidery - and went on a four day retreat to simply sit and stitch. Bliss.

I made this card for a young man who loves his snow sports when the family heads up to the Central Plateau (in New Zealand) to stay on Mt Ruapehu.

I started by blending my Broken China, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks  on the blue cardstock... I was not happy with the result, but had to leave the project to have a meal, and when I came back I was very surprised to see they had dried and looked wonderful!

The snowboarder image is from an Avery Elle Stamp set Stoked, and coloured with Polychromos, and his visor was given dimension and shine with some Glossy Accents

The sentiment was embossed with gold on the white, die cut 'slopes', which were edged with
 Kindy Glitz

The stars were embossed with platinum embossing powder.

  7. This is SO cute! I remember the year our son discovered snow boarding. He fell in love with it while visiting his Grandparents in Minnesota, couldn't get enough of it, bought a snowboard at a second hand store, and then returned home to Nevada and hasn't done it since. Well, at least he knows he loves it. This card really made me smile thinking about that. thanks SO much for sharing your art with us.
