Welcome
The way blogger is behaving as I try to prepare this post really is giving me the blues!!
Although the title was because it is another card with shades of blue...
This card is for the new challenge at Word Art Wednesday, where our sponsor this challenge is
I had in mind to make a masculine card for this scripture - it is so beautiful and bold, which often works well for the masculine style cards
I started with the deep blue base cardstock on my desk, and decided to use a diagonal cut on the patterned paper, so clear embossed an old Hero Arts background stamp on the end of it.
I then decided to try double embossing the lighter blue card to use as the background...
I first embossed it with a woven style folder, and then with the large dots, inking the folder before I ran the card through, there was a major oops moment, but that was covered with the scripture panel.
When I cut the scripture print, I made another oops, so to counterbalance that fact that the print was off centre, I tied some blue metallic cord around one edge.
The inside was decorated with a wee strip of the embossed panel - it was just big enough

so lovely and thanks for sharing with us at CRAFTY CATZ ATG challenge hope to see you again in our new challenge
ReplyDeleteGreat masculine slimline card Maxine. I like the vivid blue you used.
ReplyDeleteI think blogger is enough to give anyone the blues at the moment. Just after they fix something they change something else and then it seems to undo the fix they have already done!
Well , Maxine , another fabulous card .Going to try double embossing card layer soon as it is quite effective shown on your card .HUGS Shirley-Anne
ReplyDeleteSo effective in the tone on tone colours Maxine. And yes, Blogger is being an absolute pain this last week or two, last weeks Allsorts winners post which normally takes 5/10 minutes took well over an hour.

We can be very creative about hiding our 'Oops' moments can't we? The lighter blue is such a pretty shade and the embossing enhances it. And of course the quote is true today and always. Kate xx
ReplyDeleteYou scared me for a second Maxine! lol When I saw that title, I was like oh no. So happy you don't have the blues other than the blues from trying to post with blogger. This card is amazing! I love the simplicity of the look of it, but when you look closer and see all that embossing and texture you realize it isn't as simple at it looks. I love the scripture and the font does indeed lend to a masculine card. I see no "oops", so you have balanced it out just perfectly as I would be none the wiser if you hadn't told on yourself. lol I love this slimline card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteVery nicely made masculine card!
ReplyDeleteBlue is number one of my colors. If we took the oops out of card making people would begin to suspect we were purchasing, not creating the cards. LOL. If I started my projects over because of an oops, none of them would get finished. I have to say that your card is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove, Hugs and Blessings,
Jim
WOW how did I miss this. I love this card. My favorite color has always been blue so I naturally generate to this color. You did a great job on this card.
ReplyDeleteOh Maxine this is an absolute beauty I love the length of it and the texture and all the blues which I am super happy are on just your card! Xo
ReplyDeleteIt's so creative! Wonderful idea with embossing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge.
Loving blues this is a card tat I like! The blue/black combination is beautiful! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite sayings is that a "Good crafter" can almost always cover up her mistakes. Yours are not at all to be seen in the finished card so that makes you a Good Crafter to me. But then I already knew that.
ReplyDeletelove the blue and the way you have used your embossing on this card.
Blessings, Neet xx
