I would like to welcome a new follower Dottie - she blogs at Something Crafty By Dottie and her work is lovely. I recommend you visit her to see it.
This card started as a monoprint from a stencil I used the other week, and then I received some new Crafty Individuals stamps I had ordered before Christmas...
Everything just fell into place and it took me no time to make the card - the longest part was fussy cutting the ducks :)
I stamped the image directly on the background, and embossed in Coffee Bean ep.
I then stamped the ducks again using Espresso Ink, and trimmed them out and layered them over the embossed image, and added a wee bit of espresso ink to 'ground' them .
It looks a bit like a mud puddle they are standing over. 😉
A close-up of the fabulous sentiment
I loved how the hearts had the outline around them when I took the print.
I finished the card with a die cut row of hears in gold paper, and also mounted the feature panel on gold before adhering it to the red base.
I finished the inside with three of the offcut hearts from the die cut strip of outline hearts.
I also placed one above the ducks heads.

hI Maxine, sadly Suze went back yesterday, she was unsettled and missing her pact and one must remember she was in the 'wild' with her siblings for two years, she was like a wolf howling all night for almost two weeks, neighbours are good but we didn't want to stretch the friendship, thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteMaxine: Your side by side ducks with hearts card is absolutely adorable! I loved reading about the extra steps of embossing and extra layering you gave the ducks! And of course they need a mud puddle to waddle in. It was also a great design plan to have side by side hearts gracing the bottom edge and then different solid heart cut-outs side by side for the inside. FAB card!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really so sweet Maxine, those Ducks make for a perfect Valentines creation.

ReplyDeleteAnother cute and lovely card Maxine, I love those ducks and the sentiment is perfect for a couple to send to one another. The gold heart floating over the top of them is lovely and is echoed so well by the strip at the base of your card. Once more, you have scored with this card.
