Welcome
Life has been busy... I am trying to make the most of the last few weeks of summer.
Add in packing up the kitchen ready for alterations, and you can understand my absence both over the past week, and the coming weeks too!
I was inspired by two things in the making of this card - the first was a challenge to use a rainbow, the second was a technique video by Natasha Foote
I love the vibrant colours of the melted wax crayons, and left my background fairly organic, without smoothing it out very much.
The flowers were cut with a gifted, unmarked die from a snippet of paper - it was just big enough to get the two flowers by going off the edge. The flowers and the greeting had several layers of WoS applied, and the flowers were finished with a clear rhinestone in the centre of each.
A trimming off the edge of the background decorated the inside.

I don't usually use crayons in card making, or just die cuts against a background!

Fabulous effect with the colourful wax background and the white sparkly flowers pop against it. What a Happy card Maxine x. Good luck with the kitchen alterations x.
ReplyDeleteI like this background look with the pencils and you should try it more! I think you did right to leave it like it was rather than smooth it out too much. The white dies look perfect with the background and love you added all that sparkle. Thanks for joining Time Out x
