Yes, Purple and Yellow

Welcome

This card had two sources of inspiration, not the least being the Less is More current colour challenge.  I taught the colour-blocking background technique at my last class - Natasha Foote's video on this was my inspiration there, although I have done this before...

I decided to use the colour prompt for my background, and kept the stamping very simple, stamping in black on white and then die cutting the rose from this set by Stamp Simply, and popping it up on dimensional tape.

I then stamped the sentiment (a well used, original stamp, still available) and embossed it in Egg Plant EP - one of my original powders that must be 20 yes old or more!!

I finished the inside by stamping the rose bed in Limoncello ink in opposite corners

I was really pleased with how this turned out.

  6. Hi Maxine, a superb card for the colour prompt, love the colour blocking you have used. I still have some stamps from 20 years ago, maybe now I'm better at it I should try them out again... I could never get them to completely stamp the designs... Have a wonderful week.. Megan

  14. Such an impactful background, love all the textures and different depths of cover. At Less is More we prefer to see areas of unpatterned/untextured white space, so to truly follow our guidelines more blank space would be required. But it's certainly a gorgeous creation, please do join use again, Anita x

  15. Beautiful card Maxine, I love that background technique design! The color combo is lovely as well. The rose is so pretty and I'm glad you kept with no color. That's cool your embossing powder is old, lol, I have some old ones too as I don't emboss as often as I probably should. Love how you did the inside as well. Just as beautiful! Hugs, Brenda
